It is. We save lives, homes, pets - you name it. I don't expect the wish-granting promise here to be true, but if it was I know what I would use it for.
Considering it is an arcade I would assume their winnings aren't counted in chips and prizes will not be the type we can exchange for currency. If it was chips, well... I suppose that would be very generous of them.
I really doubt they'd be that kind. So we're unlikely to get anything that will help with our room and board, but at least we might exchange something of some sentimental value.
Regardless of how one might feel about the lower stakes, at least there will be less external pressure while you're with me. [A hint, maybe, that Rahu herself doesn't really know how to feel about it, that there's something grotesque in all the distractions woven into the bones of the resort.]
I am unsure if this will be a comfort or not, but time distortions have been proven to me so far, so if returned it is possible you may not miss anything.
Imagine if perhaps you were brought to the hotel at the same time as a coworker. However the coworker remembers events spanning 3yrs more than you do. In addition your coworker doesn't think you "disappeared," and it's not like you died since they remember events that include you that you don't recall.
I do not believe children are in a place like this. At the very least, I have not seen anyone younger than mid-teen. So it would not be in regard to parenting, but to sexual play.
The lobby, perhaps. Entering a new establishment without being aware of the expectations can be a bit daunting, and that doesn't even begin to touch on the nature of this particular resort.
[Concord will have come up with a time and place for Mina to meet him for a picnic. Something calming and easy after the events of the previous month. The paintings subdued or accepted, leaving Concord in need of some quieter times. War and then peace, just like home, if on a much shorter timescale. For an immortal, it is a strange adjustment to make. He'd gotten so used to thinking in decades, rather than weeks or days.
He thought pleasantly on this day and looked forward to it.
The spot he gives for Mina to meet him is in the Cloud Dwelling Garden. He laid out a blanket on a stretch of lawn with a nice view, overlooking the bulk of the gardens, with shade from a single, large tree. One he seems to be communing with, a hand on it and a stoic look on his face. His focused on the old bark will break if she approaches, Concord swiveling his head her way,]
I've been granted permission for us to settle here. Make yourself comfortable.
[Mina, at this point, has decided that the interconnected areas that display nature features and have some smattering of animals is her favorite. As such a picnic in the Cloud Dwelling Garden is more than a welcome treat. She'll have gathered enough chips by now to buy something that's not just cheap "athleisure" clothing, but even so her light blouse and high waist pants still have hotel branding on it (a peacock feather on a breast pocket, the full logo emblazoned on the pant buttons).]
Of course. Thank you.
[Out of habit she tips into an appropriate bow before settling herself on the lawn blanket. She doesn't have much in the way of care items, but since he rejected the idea of hair brushing she does have a small bag of other things in case the subject comes up.]
[Concord has never been the best at human manners, so he stares at her when she arrives. Just taking in her appearance, the attractive fit of her clothing, the way her hair is done, her easy expression in meeting him. His gaze is soft, not leering so much as a gentle, attentive focus.
As a six in the rankings, he's not poorly set up, just awful with money. If he gets given it, he usually spends it immediately, having no mind for saving, investing, or delaying gratification. All of that is Ali's specialty. Still, Concord set aside what he'd need to treat Mina and himself to a nice picnic. He also got himself some nicer clothing, though his style is distinctly old west. A half open button up, sleeves rolled up to the elbows, suspenders, slacks, and working boots. His exceedingly long braid also has a red, corduroy ribbon woven into it. He had a matching jacket to it, but that was hung on the tree for safe keeping, in case the hotel decided to make it cold out and about to suit the new, more autumnal state of things.
He moves and sits at an angle to her, close by without touching. Concord offers an over large hand of his towards her to shake, his manner friendly rather than militantly rigorous, as it may be in another scenario...]
Pleasure to meet you in person. I'm Concord. [for being such a big guy, he sure speaks with a quiet tone, with just a bit of twang to his voice.]

[Well, to be fair to her colleagues... anyone is a good sport compared to their coworker Narumi.]

My time is yours when you're available. I'll keep watch for any more strange happenings in the meantime and report when we meet.
[They'll connect again when it's time for their outing. What a productive date that will be!]

Next you tell me why you want to be friends. Common interests? Similar occupation?
no subject
I don't keep pets, I'd be awful with 'em. And I'm certainly not a soldier.
But we live in the same place. We see the same shops, know the same people, and deal with the same bullshit. That's enough in common for me.
So, whaddya say?

You're my first one of those, too - thank you. It's a less lonely place now.

Excuse me if I am a bit skeptical of "fun" in a communal bathroom.

... But maybe in the bathroom? You never know.

If that works for you, I would appreciate it.

How competitive are you?

[Well... reasonably competitive when compared to a coworker who is an ego-surfing maniac who can't handle when his name isn't in the top trending.]
