[Concord has never been the best at human manners, so he stares at her when she arrives. Just taking in her appearance, the attractive fit of her clothing, the way her hair is done, her easy expression in meeting him. His gaze is soft, not leering so much as a gentle, attentive focus.
As a six in the rankings, he's not poorly set up, just awful with money. If he gets given it, he usually spends it immediately, having no mind for saving, investing, or delaying gratification. All of that is Ali's specialty. Still, Concord set aside what he'd need to treat Mina and himself to a nice picnic. He also got himself some nicer clothing, though his style is distinctly old west. A half open button up, sleeves rolled up to the elbows, suspenders, slacks, and working boots. His exceedingly long braid also has a red, corduroy ribbon woven into it. He had a matching jacket to it, but that was hung on the tree for safe keeping, in case the hotel decided to make it cold out and about to suit the new, more autumnal state of things.
He moves and sits at an angle to her, close by without touching. Concord offers an over large hand of his towards her to shake, his manner friendly rather than militantly rigorous, as it may be in another scenario...]
Pleasure to meet you in person. I'm Concord. [for being such a big guy, he sure speaks with a quiet tone, with just a bit of twang to his voice.]
[Handshakes are not unfamiliar to her. As such she takes his hand with grace, and provides a warm but firm greeting in the way the meet and clasp.
Mina sits with her legs partially tucked beneath her — mostly off to the side so that her weight doesn't grind the nice picnic blanket into the grass more than necessary.]
I would like to thank you again for having patience with me, and my jest.
What name do you want me calling you by? First or second or both... I know you humans sometimes hold a preference.
[He's only got the one name, after all, makes things pretty simple.]
You can joke around with me, I'm not as humorless as I sound. [his tone is pretty stern, even if soft spoken, he knows that gives him an aura of seriousness]
I suppose only having one name is quite common around here. Feel free to call me by Mina. In my culture it would be a bit too familiar, but... It is only fair considering it's all you have.
[Ashiro stays polite with her hands in her lap. Unwilling to start reaching for whatever he brought for them, and waiting until after they eat for whatever she brought.]
[Concord's focus is on her most intently before he remembers they're here for a picnic. He reaches to open the basket and retrieve the things he brought. Simple things. Crackers, sliced cheese, some fresh fruits. There is a bottle of apple cider for the season, two wooden cups he found for purchase that reminded him of home. Concord isn't one to hold on to many possessions. He is no dragon...]
Mina, then. A pleasure. [he takes an apple and, since he doesn't have anything like a knife given the strictness the hotel kept those from guests, Concord just... twists it, snapping it cleanly in two. Half is handed her way, his hand somewhat sticky now with fresh juice.]
I've sniffed these items out, none should have additives. [Concord can tell that well by nose, at least with simpler items. Anything more complicated or processed with modern technology is more likely to escape him.]
